Technical Superintendent (Deep Sea Vessels) - Permanent - London - Competitive Salary This is an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company based in central London. A superintendent is the first link from shore to ship and vice versa, they are to manage, with the Captains and Chief Engineers, the above mentioned tasks and the budget of the vessels, being accountable to the relevant Deputy Fleet Manager / Fleet Manager Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to; - That vessels are maintained to international regulations and Company procedures - That statutory and classification surveys for all plant and equipment on fleet vessels are carried out - That vessels are supplied with spares and stores in a timely order as per company procedures - Monitors performance of vessel's staff and appraises Masters and Chief engineers as required - Conducting audits of ships safety management systems - Investigating major machinery failures and any resulting insurance claims. - Conduct full vessel inspections as per company's procedures. - Prepare dry-docking specifications, evaluating tender documents and attend the vessel during the dry dock period or repair periods. - Complying with Class, Flag State and Statutory regulations You will have sailed in a Senior Rank (2nd/Chief Engineer), hold a Class one COC and ideally have some shore based experience as Technical Superintendent or in similar role.
